Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with former coach his previous coach.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.

The win also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an better serving game.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 initial opportunities in a close final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
